Colours: Kitchen Trends 2015

 

With summer fast approaching, it’s a good time to think about brightening up your kitchen. With the bright weather in summer often lifting people’s moods, you want the colours in your house to reflect this.

A kitchen is an important place. It’s where you spent a lot of time; cooking tea, eating good food and having drinks with friends. This is why we believe that now is a good time to update your kitchen and give it some TLC.

Below we have put together a small guide on the colours we think will be popular in kitchens this year.

 

Blue

 

Choosing a darker blue for your kitchen can really give it some character.

Teaming up blue units with white tiles can really make the blue stand out, giving your kitchen a modern look.

Adding blue such as cobalt blue, can give a kitchen more personality. Whilst adding a lighter blue, can give your kitchen a classic vintage look.

 

Bright Colours

 

Think bright! The brighter, the better. The first thing is to decide how much colour you want. We think that using a bright colour on a feature wall, then contrasting it with white units, keeps the colour from being too over powering.

We also recommend using bright coloured tiles, as adding a splash of colour to your kitchen can make it seem that much more inviting.

 

Other bright colours to consider are sunny yellows and vibrant oranges. Adding a striking colour to brighten a room that is otherwise simply decorated can really make it stand out.

 

Grey

Whilst white was a big colour in kitchens back in 2014, grey is the colour that is set to replace it throughout the year. Grey adds a little more colour to the kitchen than white, but still leaves it neutral enough to accessorise.

If you choose to have the main colour of your kitchen grey, then you should consider adding a splash of colour elsewhere. Brightly coloured units or kitchen accessories, can really add stylish twist to the classic theme.
